How to be a Eudaemonist

How does one go about being a Eudaemonist? They concentrate on a systematic effort to enjoy life, to embrace themselves in everything that makes life worth living, and use logic and rationality as the mechanism of that persuit.

To be a Eudaemonist, you do not seek mere abstract loosely defined 'Happiness' You seek 'Total Human Well Being' in the purest sense of Aristotle's concept.

Buddhists seek nirvana, which some may say is similiar to Aristotles concept of Eudaemonia. But Buddhists seek enlightenment through the cessation of desire, the logical extension of this is to desire nothing, not even existence! Nothing could be further from Eudaemonia, not only do you desire existence, you cheerish and embrace it. See more on Buddhism and Eudaemonia(coming soon)

Many books, articles, stories and discussions have influenced my current concept of Eudamonia, here are some of them.

Values in Pursuit of Happiness
By Michael Dickey

The Eudaemonic Pie

Nichomachean Ethics

Atlas Shrugged
No other philosopher has done more to develop Aristotle's ideas than Ayn Rand, in her crowning work of fiction, a piece meant to embody all of her primary ideals, she does great service in developing the concept of the inviduals persuit of happiness. Her ideals on relationship, love, sex, and values I feel are the greatest rational development in these areas there has ever been.
